Barred rock gender

If can be tuff on a newbie. My marans and barred patterned chicks can be sexed at birth. Which is where the Legbar breed from the UK came from. The barring gene was used to create the bar breeds. Legbars, Cambars, etc. etc.

Oh, it was you! I went into TSC the other day and they had a bin of straight run Barred Rocks. Every single chick in that bin was a cockerel because the people who knew what to look for had selected all of the pullets already. I wondered who would be that person who would buy a bunch expecting somewhere around 50/50 only to get all boys.

I'm sure they'll be delicious, though.

Haha these guys were actually hatchery ordered by my neighbor and I just picked 5 at random cause I didnt really know what to look for. I have heard that tho...people getting all Roos from TSC....Its kind of amazing how bad they are with their animals tho.

Side question...do you think these guys are feathered/old enough to stay outside with no heat? It does not get below 50ish
