Barred Rock has really red skin between her vent feathers and her wings...what is causing this?

She is 1 1/2 years old...Eating, pooping, laying normally. Acting normally. But she is starting to molt and her skin is an angry red color. I don't see any mites or lice. None of my other hens have this happening. What could be causing it and how can I help her? Thanks for your imput!

I'd like to know the same thing. I recently (and by recently I mean less than 2 weeks ago

) inherited a rescue flock of BR hens, a few roos, a couple of ducks and a goose!. They were in extremely tight quarters and the chickens had been plucking at each other (on top of the whole molting thing). I have a handful that have the really red (but not bleeding) exposed skin.

Any tips would be great!
