Hello! We are first time chicken “tenders” as my kids like to joke, and absolutely loving our little flock. We have 9 pullets all about 22 weeks old, 4 are barred rocks. We definitely have one laying, but I’m thinking two are laying as we are getting a brown egg every day (our other girls are laying green/blue eggs).
I’m starting to worry we have a barred rock roo. We aren’t allowed to have a roo, and I will be so sad if we have to get rid of him. The one I have seen lay an egg has the smallest comb, so I was surprised when I walked in to find her laying the egg as I thought for sure it would have been one of the others.
We don’t have any crowing.
I’m really hoping she’s a she just with a large comb. What do you think? All of the pictures are of the chicken in question, except the last one which is our barred rock who is laying.
