This little one was 7 weeks on Wednesday. Any guesses? All the pics are of the same bird.

I question it because of all 5 BR that I have this is the only one with a larger comb. The other 4 have very tiny combs.

do they all have black running down the front of their feet? cockerels feet are all yellow, pullets have black on the front of their feet

Looks like a pullet to me. Her color is too dark to be a male. You can't always go by the dark wash on the legs. I have a BR pullet I named Hidden Roo. When she was younger she had no dark wash on her legs and had green tail feathers, but a very pullet looking face and a little light on the color for BR pullet. I just couldn't tell so hence the name. She now lays an egg a day, but might miss one day a week. Sometimes they can take you by surprise, but I'm pretty sure you have a girl there.

Here is why I question if it's a roo. I have that one with a bigger comb then I have 4 others that look exactly like the one next to the one in question. The first 2 pics are for comparison to the one I question.

She looks just like my BR pullets did at 7 weeks - their combs were bigger than your other 4 BRs also.

These pictures should ease your mind - these are 2 of my BR pullets at 7 weeks old - they are now 1 year old and lay lots of huge brown eggs.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I now only have 1 roo!!!! I can definately live with that!!

I want chickens for their eggs not for their chicks.

I will be keeping my Austalorp roo because I know he is gonna be a beauty! I'll just be extra vigilant at collecting eggs several times a day.

The thought of having 2 roos was overwhelming to me.
