Barred Rock Hen or Roo?

    How old is it? If less than 18 weeks old, I'm pretty sure it is a cockerel.

    Not sure how old sadly. Definitely young but not sure.

    Assuming it's young as you've stated, and given the redness and size of its comb and wattles, I think it is a cockerel.

    Thanks for the help. I thought he was a hen for the past 2 weeks but then his comb just jumped out and I figured he may be a cockerel. Thanks again.

    I said hen only because it gave me the hen vibe. given how small the comb is and the unknown age it could go both ways. some hens have large combs even when they are young. and without knowing the age its hard to say

    How about a profile pic of the bird standing naturally? I'm also wondering if it's a Rock or a Marans, that leg color looks pink to me.

    Here is a profile shot of the bird. I'm just assuming it's a barred rock. I'm so new to the chicken game who knows what breed he/she may be haha. Let me know what you think of the bird from this angle. [​IMG]
