His barring is impressive. Most BR's aren't that neatly barred. He is from good lines.

I've just been back to the farmer I got him from and he's given me a young Barred rock hen so now I've got both. Thanks for all your kind comments and for letting me know that he is a he!!

Yes I've called him Wilf!! I will try and get a picture of her in the morning before I go to work. So when will Wilf start crowing? I've not heard him make a single sound up in till now!!

He should start crowing any time. Usually crowing and mating come hand and hand.
