Barred rock hen x Sussex rooster; are babies sex-linked?

I was given an egg from a barred rock female with what looks (and acts) like a Sussex rooster. We have a little mostly-cream baby out of the egg today. Is this a cross that would be sex-linked, and if so, how can ID it as male or female? thanks!
