I have two barred rock chicks and were wondering if anyone could tell if they are hens or roosters. They are two to three weeks old right now, cant remember exactly when we got them. Thanks

I would say #1 is a roo and #2 is a hen. The legs are stockier and 1 has a bigger comb. It is still hard to tell for sure at this age. Watch for the combs to turn red and wattles to appear.

That is what I was thinking. the first one is starting to get two little bright red wattles(they were the first thing I noticed).

Thank You. I also have 18 Aracuana(sp?) mixes. If this one is a rooster we are going to keep him as long as hes not bothering anyone.
