Barred Rock or Black Australorp?

They are not barred rocks.
Barred color comes pretty early even with the younger chickens you can easy see the different when they fluff out .
As chick they are similar but after a couple weeks it is easy to see.
Those chickens look like black austrolorp to me. Too black to be barred.

I have 15 of the BA's,young birds and several have the white spot. With so many having it I just figured it to be normal.A friend of mine who has raised them for years says they should have the green sheen to them.

I love the beetle-green sheen of my BA's feathers. This is my Matilda.

You can even see it when she's dust bathing.

Barred Rocks are yellow legs and should have zero black or dark colors on their feet and legs. I don't know many Black Aussies that have too much yellow or any to come to think of it on my Black Australorps feet & legs as NEWBIE CHICKS. mine usually came out of the shell with very dark if not black legged. And like another person mentioned, if you wait, in about a week you should see barring develope on the BR's.
