Barred Rock or Something Else?

These sweet girls have us vexed. We bought two chicks and were told that one was a Rhode Island Red and the other a Brown Leghorn. One is probably one of those breeds but the other is definitely not. They are both about 4 weeks old and weigh about 8 ounces. Any opinions about what they might be? BTW...they are standing on a small block of ice to keep cool. It will be 105 today in Phoenix.

Meet Harley. We were thinking maybe Barred Rock but her dark feet have us confused.


Meet Saffron. Could be either a Rhode Island Red or a Brown Leghorn. Either would be just fine but I'm curious what you think.

I have only just got chickens - about 5 days old. I have barred rocks also. From the looks of it harley is a barred rock. Go have a look here for comparison http://futhers.com/raising/growth-record

I would think Barred rock too. My BR have dark feet on the top and yellow on the bottom. They just aren't as desirable to show but they are still BR here is my 3 mo old Zebra showing the same dark feet.

The first chick is a barred rock,the other is a mix, most likely with Sussex, red sex link or new Hampshire red, judging from the coloration.
