I used the genetic calculator, and completely expected that I would have some dark little chicks. Apparently the Barred Rock gene is dominant....

Imagine my surprise when these popped out of the eggs! They are 3 days old in this picture

Same parents and a new hatch, and I did get 2 little dark babies. Here is a picture of the first 4 moved into the brooder, meeting their older brother for the first time.

Nature is a wonderful mystery.
