So i got these two and they were labled pullets... but i am getting a little suspicious of them because one of them has a comb that is getting quite pink, with waddles coming in pink as well.
I am worried because if that one is a cockerel the other one may be too, just because they are feathering out the same. Feet are an in between color, not fully black or yellow... yellow with black just down the fronts of the legs. Feathering seems to be barring out like a pullet, but i am completely new to this breed.
Opionions? Pics are from a couple days old to about 4 weeks, latest ones being the outside pics.

Their feathering indicates female because the males are double barred. I have a young barred rock with a relatively large and red comb but she still has that pullet feathering which is your most reliable bet.

did any of them have the white dots on their heads as chicks? Also, if they have/had lighter legs, they are male as well. However, they seem to be pullets.

Yes, there are a couple of baby pics in there with the spots on their heads. Their legs were/are yellow with black, kind of an inbetween of other pics ive seen where they are either quite dark for females, or quite yellow for males

The ones with bigger spots or more white on their heads are likely males, otherwise they are females.

I was hoping the feathers would be the best indicator! That pink comb and waddle were really making me nervous😬

Any barred bird will have a spot on the head --male or female--dominique, cuckoo, barred rock.... The male should have a bigger spot because he has two copies of the barring gene. There are also supposed to be some female barred rocks that look as light as cockerels also.

All of mine had the white spots on head as chicks and all are pullets. The females have the spot but sometimes the males have more white on them as chicks.
Thats what i thought.... they are all spotted but the males will go more around the head or down the neck?? And the females tend to be more distinct edges...?
What do you think of mine?

Any opinion on my chickies?
