Barred Rock Rooster Correct?

Hi! Just making sure this is a little boy. Had several people comment that it looks hen but I see plenty of pointy saddles. Bird is about 4 months old. *same bird in each pic*

Looks like a cockerel to me, too. Normally, I can't tell but I had one once (handsome Barred Rock that he was) & I see it! I'm glad that you love him, as he will likely be wonderful with the ladies (ours was a fantastic fella!). You will have a lovely flock & he should be very kind & attentive to them.

Sometimes you can tell if they're going to start off as jerks & hopefully come around, or start off being nice, hit the crazy hormones phase & then settle down again. Sometimes it's a wait & see, as I have read on this site. Since his only exposure is what he learns (from you, from the flock & observation,) keep doing what you're doing.

thank you! I make sure to cuddle him everyday! He isn’t crowing yet but talks a lot!
