Chirping
Hello we recently acquired 6 chicks. 2 barred rock, 2 buff, 2 EE. I am suspicious one of my barred rocks is not a hen. Any opinions appreciated and I am willing to send updated pics weekly. Thanks ahead of time.

Cockerels will have a more whiter appearance than pullets. Hers is a cockerel.might be a bit early to tell but a Cockerels comb will start to turn red around 5 weeks old compared to a pullet

Oh no, I didn't mean it in a rude way. Just trying to help people learn. I didnt know that either until someone told meim no expert I was just going off of what my rocks looked like at week 4
I would never just introduce other chickens to my flock because I dont know if they have any parasites or diseases but yes, you could eventually introduce them.Bummer. I wanted to have 6 hens. My neighbor has 2 week old white Plymouth rocks and black austrolops right now up for grabs. Do u think I could incorporate one of them in my flock easily?sorry I am a newbie
