A droopy comb itself shouldn't be something to worry about!Hi all -
One of our barred rocks has a pale floppy comb, and has been brooding day and night for a few days now. Does the comb look normal for this or is something wrong?
thank you!
I live in North California and happen to also have a broody hen incubating her eggs just now. To help with dehydration, you could try putting a water source available for her near or in her nesting box.It looks kind of purple on the ends which could be a sign of poor oxygen or maybe that’s just the lighting. Is it hot where you live? We are having very hot days here in SC and if my chickens get overheated and don’t drink enough water, the canget a purple tint on their combs. I’m just thinking if she’s sitting in a nest box all day and it’s hot and she’s not drinking enough, she could be dehydrated.
