How do you know that your Easter Egger cock has Barred Plymouth Rock or Black Sex Link in him?

Dad of cockerel was an ee sold as an Americana but had no bars on him, so not really sure honestly. Most of his offspring only traits of ee and very little barred rock when he produced with female. (I thought she hadnt had any babies when I first saw them.) Mom of ee was a rir standard
