My one BO roo's comb got red really quick. Like the first week. Is one reddening faster than the other? My 2 females are 6 weeks old and just starting to get some color.
For anyone who was interested in knowing i am now certain that they are black australorp pullets. just thought you might like to know the final verdict!
I don't have pictures yet. I have a friend who has some australorps and they are exactly like she described them. I also have some jersey giant pullets and looked online because they aren't growing as fast as i thought they would and looked them up and came across several articles here and elsewhere that jersey giants and black australorps look near identical as chicks and you could tell by the bottoms of their feet. Yellow for the jerseys and white/gray for black australorps. As far as the sex the first chick to get some color to it's comb was a chick that is 2 weeks younger than these two chicks, which i am positive is a roo. and my black sex link also got some color before these two did. The bsl is also younger than these two. So alot of stuff from alot of sources! Lol!
