Barred rocks? Is the one a roo?

@MGG Are those ones hens? Tractor supply did sell us those as isa browns and they were looking like any pictures I looked up. But the black and white ones are throwing me off. @Overo Mare how can you tell both are cockerels? I was only thinking the one with the red comb because it turned red so early and hes bigger than the other one and kind of a bully lol

They both have pretty big and red combs, it looks like.

The Sexlinks are pullets.

Only cockerels will be that developed, and have that much color in their comb and wattles at 5 weeks. Pullets at 5 weeks won't have very visible wattles, their combs are usually smaller, and they will absolutely not be red.

I also received a few “Asia Blacks” from tractor supply that turned out to be barred rock cockerels. Here is my favorite roo at two weeks and now 5! I’ve read about this happening frequently with TSC and Asia Blacks.

They are Barred Plymouth Rocks, and in one of the last pictures I’m pretty sure I see 2 BR roosters. Usually BR pullets don’t have very big combs and not that red at that age either. I have noticed that in BRs as baby chicks the males have more white/yellow on their heads and the females will be darker colored as they start to feather out. The thing about places like Tractor Supply is that a lot of the employees don’t have knowledge of the products they carry and especially when it comes to the chickens. They often mix in chickens that haven’t sold from the previous orders in with the new ones which is understandable but often the next days crew doesn’t know or keep track of the changes.

How old are they? If they are full-grown, I'd say pullet, and those aren't Barred Rocks.

We got them april 12 or whenever waster was, so they’re around 3 months. And were sold as asian blacks from tractor supply so i am not sure on the breed either.
