Barred Rocks or Dominiques? please help New pics!!!!!

I see both as well and def. two roos....the bottom pic the one toward the front and the one behind the brown one w/ a rose comb that is red, if their comb is turning red at this age they are roosters

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. We hatched out several Dominique x chicks this year (Dom rooster & the eggs were from various hens, all of which have single combs). They all hatched out looking like some of your chicks (black with the typical dot on their heads), but some had single combs & some had rose combs. They were able to be sexed just like you would Doms or Barred Rocks. The darker ones with the more compact dots & darker legs, of course, ended up being pullets. The lighter ones with spread out dots & frosting on their backs were males. There was only one that we were unsure of (had an mis-shapen dot & dark legs) & it turned out to be a roo. I think I see at least 2 or 3 roos, but not sure.

Good luck with them

I hope this helps. The one in front has the single comb like the white/brown one. All others have rose comb and one is all black with some hints of reddish/brown on the feather tips. The black one also has the black legs.

The one in the front is a BR roo. The one in the back looks like a Dominiques roo as well but it could be just a poorly formed single comb and then in that case it would be a BR roo.

I don't think the neighbors will be too happy with so many roos.
