Some people say you can tell really early from the head spot, and the boys are a lighter color than the girls tend to be. My babies are one week old and I think I can kinda see signs already, but I want to see what you guys say.

1. This one is actually a dominique:

UPDATE:

They are now 5 weeks old and fully feathered. What do you think now? (The pics are in the same order as the ones above.)

To me, 3 is obviously a roo and 2 is obviously a pullet. The dom has the coloring and body shape of a roo, but his comb is just barely red and his wattles haven't really grown at all like the BR roo. I think he is a roo, but how long will it take for his comb and wattles to develop?

by my guess...they are still so young but...The dom..Pullet because of the shading of black on the frount of the leggs and #2 pullet because again the shading of black on the frount of the legs and #3 a roo.

Just a guess they are still so young.

There are just so many ways out there people say you can tell, I just wanted to see what people thought. I was actually thinking roo, pullet, roo but I like your list much better.

I read along time ago that Dom chicks can be sexed by the shading on the legs that males will not have it and females will. When I raised doms I found this to be true by keeping only chicks with shaded legs and all turned out to be female.

I have also heard it works with BR's

I am no expert in BR's or Dom's I only raised them for a short time. I grew them up to laying age and sold them. They was a project from school when I was about 15 years old.

since I know nothing about Doms, I'll agree with everyone who says #1 is a pullet; #2 does seem to be feathering in dark, like my BR pullet did; #3 seems to be getting lighter feathers (or more stripped-y feathers) like my boys did so I'm gonna say cockerel

I've updated it with the newest pics of them. I am 100% sure 2 is a hen and 3 is a roo, and 99% sure 1 is also a roo. (The one percent is because his comb and roo aren't growing or really turning red. The feather color and tail position are all roo though.)
