Barred Rocks

I vote sexlink cockerel...looks just like my first generation black sexlink boys. The pullets also look too muddled...I bet they're a crossbreed, not pure BR.

Yeah I forgot to comment on the age...I would say (ONLY based on the reddish comb coming on one of the pullets) that they're somewhere around 15-20 weeks. By the time they're 8 months, they're chickens, LOL.

Sheesh, I guess I shouldn't be feeding them layer feed then. Its not going to be easy to seperate them out from the others since I don't really have a second coop. What a jerk that guy is....

In all reality, they'll be fine on layer feed. As soon as mine are old enough to eat the pellets, they go on layer feed (however, I use a 22% pellet, not the usual 16%).

I wouldn't change anything...they'll do fine. If you're concerned, just feed them boiled eggs or something to add some protein to their diet.

Yes, those are from the same "photo shoot". There is an older Buff Orpington in the avatar picture as well, but the three Barred Rocks and the Black Minorca all seem to be the same age/and/or size. They are very cute. The one Barred Rock with the most white in it is very friendly. She runs up when you walk in the run and doesn't fuss at all when you pick her up. The Black Minorca is also really tame and friendly. Hopefully the others will warm up to us as well.

Sometimes accidental crosses are the best surprises, right, Kate?
