Here is Fefe at 7 weeks...are we still thinking Pullet? I'm hoping so haha

I'm still voting pullet. The dark coloring with tight barring plus the smallish wattles both suggest pullet to me. I went back and looked at the photos of my BRs at about the same age and my rooster showed much more prominent bright red comb and wattles at that age.

That's what I'm hoping! She has the second biggest comb and wattles out of my 8 chicks I have a BO that is definitely making me think Roo but not sure yet. I know I hear someone trying to make those little baby crowing sounds but I can't figure out who is doing it!

That's funny! I named one of my barred rocks Fefe too!

Me either but for some reason I started calling her that. She's an escape artist from the brooder. If I unzip through top she's out. And she runs all around like a spaz in and out of the brooder. And she has to sleep on top of their waterer. She definitely looks more like a pullet to me from what I've seen then mine in question. Mine is much lighter and has ginormous feet! So much for me buying sexed pullets. Haha

Have you tried calling some of your local feed stores? Sometimes they have a surplus of extra pullets that didn't sell as chicks, or can direct you to where those extra birds were moved to.

None of my feed stores had any left. I see McMurray has some available. Just have never bought straight from a hatchery

I've found people selling/rehoming pullets/hens on Facebook and Craigslist.
