Barring question

I have 10 day old barn yard mixed chicks. The father is a solid color Blue Ameraucana and the mother is a Barred Rock. My understanding is that the barring gene is only passed from the mom to the males in mixed chicks. So here are two chicks and one looks like its developing barring on the wings. Assuming this is a boy, but with it being mixed not sure what the barring looks like on a mixed chick.

I think that all crosses between a barred hen and a solid color rooster produce chicks that are sexable at hatching. The male chicks will have a light colored spot on the top of the head. It looks like both of your chicks are male.
yes each one has a small spot and the spots all look the same too. Thank you
