Barring?

I thought I had this figured out but some resent posts got me wondering. Here is how I thought it worked is it right?
A BR Roo passes a barred gene to all babies,which is why even if I'm only hatching WL or EE eggs I get some barred babies (also have a EE roo) but a BR hen will only pass it on to male offspring.
If I'm right please tell me if not correct me on how it works.

you got it.....Barred rock Males are homozigous for the SEX LINk barring gen B on their two copies of the Z sex chromozome and the hens are Hemizigous for they only carry one copy of the Z sex chromozome Z/-
