Basic questions about Cochins

cochins are very good with kids too. my 5 year old showed them at the fair. everybody loved them. I have 10 std blue pullets I need to start man shopping

About how often do cochins lay eggs? I've wanted to add a brahma to my small group of three, but it sounds like a cochin would be another good possibility.

My cochins lay really well, they will cycle meaning they will lay for a period of time then go broody, at least mine do I take advantage of their broodiness and hatch many of my eggs from them. They are great setters and excellent mothers.

I have three standard cochin hens, two of which are currently broody and on eggs...two are gold laced, one black...sweetest girls ever...I have several bantams I got in a feather legged assortment. and they are hilarious and very busy...very pretty little things...there are several roos but I will keep them all...little fluff balls...I think they are my favs...I love to watch that rolling ball of feathers running across the yard...
