Someone posted on the crafters what are you making for christmas thread how to make bath bombs..

well now it is 121 pages long and I dont think I can find it again.

Can someone tell me a recipe or link to where I can find directions to make bath bombs?

Here is is:

Dry ingredients:

1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup corn starch
1/3 cup salts (I use a mix of epson and dendretic (sp) salts)

Mix those in a bowl together.

In a small bottle with a lid mix:
2 1/2 tablespoons oil (I use wheatgerm oil but any will do)
3/4 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon fragrance oil
1/4 teaspoon borax
Dash of color

put the lid on the bottle and shake like crazy.

Now you'll get your hands dirty...

One hand mixing, other hand pour little tiny amounts of the liquid, stop every now and then and mix up with BOTH hands. keep going till all the liquid is gone.
You don't want to pour too much as the moisture will set off the citric acid. so pour slowly.

you can then press it into a mold, I press it in nice and firm, wait a minute and turn it over and they pop right out.

They need about a week to dry out, you can also do what I do and warm the oven up to around 100 or 150 and put them in there (turn the oven off and just leave them there for a while) helps to dry them a little faster.

I had to buy my citric acid online (no stores near me anyway) do an online search and look for the best deal. If you have a michaels or something near you, you might find some there I don't know.

Some call them bath fizziess.

You put them in your bath water and it fizzes. It's filled with all kind of nice things for the skin.

Think of a bubble bath that fizzes and doesn't have bubbles. lol
