Bathing chickens??

Ah! Ok! Should I use something other than Vaseline? Vaseline is the most suggested from everyone .
Worked fine for me, and makes sense to smother them.
I used bag balm which is basically petroleum jelly(like Vaseline) but with a few other ingredients. Just know that, it can take weeks for new healthy scales to grow in. I would suggest coating legs once a week for 3 weeks. Then wait a couple months or so to see if things clear up or not.

Will do! So I don't need to soak the feet first?

I never did....it's up to you.
Might depend on the severity of the infestation and it's damage,
and how far you want to go.
Some soak and scrub first or more days, seems extreme to me.
Post a pic of feet/legs.

The one on the perch is my rooster. The other one is my frizzle.

Both look like something other than scaly leg mites,
at least anything I've ever seen,
especially the frizzle.
Not sure what to tell you.

It's not you! It's this dumb fool I bought them from! And my ignorance!
Don't beat yourself up too bad,
a lot of folks have bought older birds with issues(me included).
I brought home scaly leg mites, lice, and some mild respiratory issues.
After 4 years those issues have been resolved.

These were supposed to be "young" birds. Either way, this is the very last time I buy from her!
