We use an old bathtub for ducks to swim in. However, chickens can easily slip and drown. Does anyone have ideas on how to modify the bathtub so chickens can drink and climb out if they fall in, without taking away from a place for ducks to swim?

Can you install something to help chickens climb out if they fall in? I have pavers in my duck pool just in case. A chicken can scoot over to the sides and find footing. I came home one day to find my Legorn cockerel standing on the pavers, soaking wet and angry. But alive!

When we build our pond, I plan to fence it in and not allow the chickens in. Is that an option for your set up?
