My 92 year old grams has the meanest rooster, he will come running when he sets eyes on any one, I have to block him while my grandkids run for the house. usually I ignore him and he is OK, the hens are my friends and come begging for worms when I'm doing yard work, THAT'S WHEN HE ATTACKS! Lucky I had the loppers in hand

Yikes... The loppers, LOL. What a photo. I just used the 5 gallon bucket to block the kicks when I had a mean rooster.

He's an awful bird. I've never in my life had any animal I couldn't get along with. We can't figure out why he's so mean, mean to the hens as well. I have scars from him where he got above my rubber boots. He even hides and ambushes me when he knows I'm not paying attention. Chases neighbors, people's dogs and my step mother's chickens if they get to close to grams yard. I kept blocking him with the loppers and he kept flying back at me. My daughter laughed so hard she fell out of her truck. If he gives you the ONE EYE as we call it, get ready to run or fight. Any ideas on what to do if love to hear them. My grams said I should of snipped his head off with loppers. I COULD NEVER DO THAT NO MATTER HOW MEAN HE IS.

I'd say to cull him. He's going to really hurt someone someday and it's dangerous to keep him with young kids around. If Grams is ok with it and he's her rooster, than get rid of him.

*2 on that one! If not, try a plants sprayer or water pistol - with the former (if its a hand pump pressurised one) you can get a good shot when he is a few metres away. He will hate it, of that i am sure (mine sure did).

Defiantly going to try the water gun. Could be another brawl though, he is fearless. Here he is before the attack,[IMG] plotting against me haha

Whoa, he is a tough guy, isn't he?! By the looks of that picture, hes a fierce one! You're doing a good job keeping him away. Stay safe!

Here's my little peep tonight, up on the bathroom mirror. She saw snow for first time today, ran around a bit then headed for the garage. Could see she was in and out all day by her tracks. Had animals of all kinds my whole life, never thought I'd have a lone chicken, hairless dog, toothless cat, and 5 foot corn snake that all hang out together. [IMG]
