battery hens

It breaks my heart too. Maybe some day I'll be able to adopt some also. Even when I was still eating eggs (and didn't have chickens in my life), I used to buy only "free range" eggs. Still the industry is going to stay and thrive...

most of the farms will not let them go out to people because they dont want the public to see the condition the animals are in. Ran into that here in Ohio as well.

Did you really? Who did you contact in Ohio? I would love to take in some battery hens as well, but again, the only rescue groups I've found are in California and the UK- both quite far away.

I know that there are a lot of places where you can purchase/get your hands on battery hens in U.K if that helps at all......

Just thought this video was kinda cool, it's mostly about this woman who rescues and rehabilitates battery hens, but there are also some other really cool things in here like the way a chickens pecking order works, how they react to predators, and more!

That was an amazing video, I learned a lot. I want to put my girls to the test with the shapes and the meal worms to see if they could
be taught to recognize shapes. Thanks for sharing.

The best way to help those chickens (if you can't look after any) is to not go to restaurants that use cage eggs. It makes you look a little like a crazy person for asking, but it really does make a difference in the long run.
