Battle: Los Angeles

Just saw this movie today. It was amazing. Out of curiosity, I searched for reviews - and it almost universally gets mediocre reviews. What the heck?

Am I weird for loving it, or has anyone else seen it and thought it was awesome?

I never pay attention to reviews. Reviews said Black Swan was incredible. Incredibly disjointed and weird yeah, but not good. I actually enjoyed Hudson Hawk, so I am not a good judge of movies.

Frankly, I actually found Battle: Los Angeles to be more realistic than some war movies. The Marines use actual military tactics... and so do the aliens. Which is completely logical, actually. As far as I can tell, there's also no agenda behind the movie, thank goodness.

And no FREAKING FORCE FIELDS. Independence Day, War of the Worlds, Skyline... there are always force fields. In this movie, you can actually kill the aliens for once!
