Can anyone tell me what to do for my Bert. He was attacked and carried off by a bobcat (beautiful cat) and I gave chase and he dropped him got away. He came out of hiding and his left wing appears broken. I love my bird enough to stupidly chase right behind a bobcat for him and now Idk what to do for him. Any advice. He's not eating either. Happened about 250pm yesterday.

First, treat for shock. Mix up some sugar water, 1/2 tsp sugar to 1 c water, add a pinch of salt and 1 tsp baking soda. Hold some up to his beak and see if he'll drink. If not, dip his beak in it. If he stiil won't drink, dip your finger in it and put a drop on the crease of his beak and he should swallow. Repeat until he refuses by shaking his head. Don't get any in his nostrils (nares). Keep him in a warm, dark area. Leave the sugar water there along with some plain water and try to notice when he drinks on his own.

Offer some of his regular feed soaked in water to make a gruel like oatmeal.

As for his injury, I will tag some Educators to advise you.

Increase that sugar recipe to one teaspoon to one cup water with pinch of salt and baking soda. Then go over his body very carefully to make sure there are no puncture and tear wounds. Those will need to be treated to avoid infection. And a puncture wound will require an oral antibiotic.

Are you certain he has a broken wing? Or just broken feathers?
