C'mon blues!!!
Oops just saw your post above. Hope everything is ok.
Jeremy I'm fine with getting the mareks. I don't need it since I have no other flocks close to me but it's only another 30 cents per bird and it's important for those who do live close to other flocks to have it. We did it last time too for the same reason.
Steff I'll try to get pics tonight. Mine have finally gotten color to them but they are still speckled. Yes all of my am girls started laying a month ago but I don't have any more silvers so I can't vouch for how long they may take. Is he sure she isn't laying somewhere else? They are almost 37 weeks old now! He may have a freeloader on his hands.
I was hoping for silver eggs too. Sorry about Freckles acting up! She was always the mellowest of all my BOs.
Kim Clyde was from that same hatch last year and he is also about 8 & 1/2 months old (almost 37 weeks). I have another roo from that same hatch that I'm probably going to rehome. He is the opposite of Clyde though. He is too submissive to my other roo and as a result has not been very successful when trying to breed (1st roo chases him off every time). He is a little smaller than my other roo too but he is very pretty. Do you want him? If Clyde doesn't shape up he may just have to become dinner. I've been hanging on to 2 black am roos because I'm afraid if something happens to the 1st one then I'm out of luck for breeding but I need to pare down since I want to breed my wheatons and my BCMs too. That's 4 roos total that I'll have (in 3 different pens)!
Thanks Laurieks! I appreciate it!
