I just received confirmation that I will be receiving 7 Blue Wheaten, 3 Splash Wheaten Ameraucanas and 5 Dark/Mahogany/Heritage Rhode Island Red chicks from Paul Smith in early March!!!!!

With the birds I have now from Jean Ribbeck, the chicks from John Blehm and now these from Paul Smith the genetic diversity in my flock is going to be terrific.

That and I'm going to have to cull, cull, cull later this year...

I'm so happy though!

He doesn't mark them as a rule but you can email him and ask if there is a way to mark any bantams but seriously you can tell them apart quite easily. And, yes, bantams are smaller. To tell you the truth if I accidently got an extra large bantam in with mine I wouldn't freak. I think it's extremely unlikely though. They are very easy to tell apart.

As far as how to pick them up, I've already warned DH that we are going down to the Bay as soon as they get here. If someone between Reno and Oakland wants me to pick their's up for them I'm fine with that. Those that were part of my last order know that I took a whole day to deliver the babies personally and I didn't charge for that but I did get to meet a lot of great BYC folks! When John sent mine they got here in about 18 hours! That probably varies from P.O. to P.O. though. Oakland has a major airport which is good news for Jeremy. They take longer to get there if they have to travel a ways by delivery truck.

OK. Trying to not get too excited this far out but...

I am hatching out EEs right now (or rather a friend is for me since my bator's not done) and that will tied me over for a little while but I will do another hatch when my bator's finished to avoid chick withdrawals. Sorry no extras in this hatch they are almost all sold already and I want to keep a couple for myself.

Jeremy I know this is a strange question but do you have any small children? My granddaughter went nuts for the babies last spring so I bought her 3 little delawares to keep for herself so that she would leave everyone else's ams alone. It's very hard to keep a 2 & 1/2 year old away from such adorable little fluffy butts. She's great with them but since they weren't mine I decided it wasn't a good idea to have her messing with them. It worked like a charm and she knows that the dels are her babies now!

OK I can't resist!

Oh how cute Sunny!

Makayla has her own too or I'd be going crazy.

He favorite is her Game named Bella.

Oh the goat was Bella too.

And another chick was Bella.
