*This is a rough sketch of the planned agenda, times may vary, and nothing is set in stone. Please give me any input you may have by Sunday 10/16 so I can post a finalized agenda to the Chickenstock thread on Monday.

Thanks for all the work, Jeremy ..

Suggestion: Would it be possible to do the Group Photo w/ BYC Banner after the Raffle and before the Games?

I won't be able to stay the entire day, and I don't know if there are others who have to be somewhere else later in the afternoon also.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I think that would be a great idea Jeremy. I may not be able to stay the entire time either. My friend & I are both looking forward to it but I am not as good as I used to be for the long haul.....LOL
If there is anything I can do to help let me know. I really appreciate your's & Cheryl's efforts doing this for all of us. I am really looking forward to all the "chicken talk".....LOL

All of my Orpington girls are molting, so I don't have hatching eggs available but I do have pure English juvie pairs right now. They would only be Blue or Splash, with breeding though you could easily hatch your own Blacks next year. They are BIG, beautiful babies.

What did the vets at UC Davis have to say about Oprah's cause of death?

I am new to world of Chickens! I am in need of some companion chicks. Out of our batch we had 3 surviving eggs 2 Australorps a 1 Easter Egger. 1 Australorp hatched yesterday at 2:17pm; no action from the other 2 as of yet. now we have this one lonely chick. I was told that they can die from loneliness.
Because I don't know the fate of the other 2 eggs, i would like to get 1 or 2 companions for my lonely chick.

If any one have any young chicks please let me know. My local feed store will not have any more until April.

Kind of depends what you want and where you are, although the meetup will be next month. You should have no trouble since some of us have a few chicks to home.

Karen I think I missed you yesterday. I forget what time I finally made it, but I did make it. Got line on SQ White Rocks and Picked up a Cubalaya Hen. She's gorgeous and Anthony is always in the ribbons with his birds. He asked if I was ready for more, but until I get the rest of these birds in their separate coops, I don't want another agressive breed to have to pen up too tight. I want those tail feathers reeeeeeally long. I'm going to the auction tomorrow, so if friday is still good for you, we can get together that day. How did the quilt come out??

OK, someone new is laying. Think is I have no idea who it is, because the egg is BIG and white??? i do have what was supposed to be either an EE or OE from a breed who through the eggs in as extras, so could be that she's ann EE and is laying white???? Nice pea comb and darl legs. She's splash and very pretty. If it her, she'll go int with the OE roos later on when I have the separate pen. My black BBS AM pullet, may be a cocKerel.

I hope not, but the saddle area looks a little puffy to me. I hope she's a she. She'll go in with my Blehm black roo later. If not she may be a replacement for him.

Sterling and Jovi are really pushing my buttoms lately with LD. He kind of hangs back in the yard and tries to ignore them, but they sometimes just get a bug up their behinds and charge after him. He's such a wimp, he hides. When I'm out there he runs to me and I chase them off. I had to carry a switch around the other day and when they'd go for him they got tails wacked. They've gotten to where they don't bother him too much unless he comes close to the house. They they look like the Raptors on Jurassic Park and run at him from 2 different directions. They don't bother my Lav cockerel and the blue AM is just as big as they are and he doesn't really bother anyone, but LD is so handsome, I think they're jealous. They girls like to hang with LD.

I only have one Game hen out with the running flock now. I have a new Game rooster and they're penned with him right now. Juliet is the only one still out. He was broodie so long that by friday her tail feathers had been so bent back that she lost them, so NO tail at all. I didn't even recognize her at first. Three broodies and I finally pulled all the eggs. Still had a FBCM on a fresh EE egg when I got home tonight. I came home yesterday to bring the Cuba girl home and fed and watered everyone and there were no eggs, so at least Big Bird is laying an egg once in a while.

I just finished feeding and watering everyone. I didn't want to over sleep and miss the auction in the morning with having to go out back first. Plus I like to fill the water at night so it's nice and cool when they wake up. BUT, I took a look at my chicks in one of the little brooders and that little SPPR sure has a nice little comb going on. I can't remember when it hatch, but I would be nice I guess to have 2 roos and 3 girls. That way when I get the whites I should have better fertility. I actually thought Rockette was a cockerel though and then suddenly she was all girl, so who knows. Anyway I'm broke, but I should have at least one white pullet some time this week and I want to get at least one more from another breeder when I'm able.

OK that's my novel for tonight. LOL

eta: just to say I'm tired, so yeah I see alllll those typos. just to tired to change them.
