I had several WCBP in my last flock. Those birds are just plain dumb. I love them and I talk people into getting them. Heck I want more than just Bling, but can't find them. Thise dingy hens would just drop when it got dark. I can't even count how many times we went out to close the coop and have to take a flashlight out and find them. None were together. One would be here, one there, one somewhere else. It was like a treasure hunt. If it was dark, we's really have to watch every step we took, because they'd be everywhere. Right in the middle of the yard even and in the dark you still don't see the white crest. I didn't lose a single one and I'm shocked. Wish I still had them.
Cheryl, I'm so sorry. I know what you're going through and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I had a couple of my Game hens go broodie. They eggs never hatched, but after I removed them, the hens disappeared. I haven't seen them on over a week. The same two have hid nests and come back later with chicks, so I'm kind of hoping that;s the case. But for a momma to leave her babies on purpose doesn't make since. I sure hope you find her and she's alright.
Debi how's the bribery going?
