Bay Area BYCers!

Hey Y'all! After a lot of waiting, our little flock arrived in the mail. We just ordered four chicks, since we live in Oakland. They arrived yesterday and we're smitten.

Quite a range of sizes. That little chick is a spitfire.

More photos at my blog.

What breeds? Australorp and Ameracauna or EE? Are these your first chicks? First adventure in chicken keeping? I'll bet you're smitten!

Anyone near Sunnyvale have a couple of fake eggs? My Dorkings have decided to start egg eating and I want to put in some of the ceramic faux eggs to stop them. The ones on EggCartons.com are perfect but shipping is $11 for a $2.95 egg!

I don't know if you have a Hobby Lobby store in your area but they sell them. Check craft stores too. :)

Hi Anna,
If you know anyone with small river rock you can just use them. Paint them white or whatever ifyou wqant but she won't care.....LOL. I bought some at the ceramic store near me if you have one near you. You will just need them in bisque not greenware if you don't do ceramics or have a kiln. They usually have them both ways.
They have them on EBAY too.
