Bay Area BYCers!

I use one of those child rakes, also. One of the best tool purchases that I have made!
I love mine though I am ready for a upgrade. half the time the end falls off then I am climbing in there to get it

I got a little carried away with mine, but I wanted something that would keep the neighbors happy here in urban Walnut Creek, and would not attract unfavorable "official" attention from the street (it is plainly visible from N. Civic.

It is uninsulated but has good ventilation and I am using sand on the floor and straw in the boxes. If you look closely you can see them peeping out from underneath wondering,"What is he up to now?!"

Thank you all for sharing your coops. I was starting to worry about our chickens freezing at night, but I think I just wanna baby em. They are ready to be outside chickens, but are still stuck in the brooder for 2-3 more weeks. I'm thinking I will put them out in 2 weeks during the day and bring them in at night, and then in 3 weeks I will leave them out 24/7. In 3 weeks they will be 6 weeks old. I also hope to have the coop done soon....ish.

Here are some of mine.

Each and every coop is simply beautiful; well thought of as to the needs of the chickens. The skylight in the large barn is allowing the light in, and am sure the small openings are helping in ventilation which is something we should have done to our large coop. Well, I will check and see if it is possible to make the change. I hope you don't mind, Walt, that I made copies of all the coop photos to use as references in the future..

Not a problem to use any of my designs. The skylights are the interior view of the gray and white barn. It is comprised of 8 pens 4'X8'x8'. That building is the coolest place on the whole property during hot days. Most of the pens pictured are purpose built but can be used for several things. I also have open pens that are large enough for the bantam ducks to fly and then there is the ranging area's. After doing this as long as I have you finally want pens that will work for breeding, extra males, conditioning for show etc. If you look closely you will see small conditioning/show prep pens within the structure. (second from last picture).
