Bay Area BYCers!

I definitely agree the sale barn was warm, stuffy, stinky, and most importantly did not have a lot to choose from :-(
Last year they had the sale barn in one of the outside covered areas. I liked that better. It also seemed like they had many more birds FS last year so maybe that's why they moved it to a different area.

Hello Bay area peeps! I'm looking to add to my flock shortly. Anyone know of a local chick breeder/hatchery with chicks available now/very soon? Looking for a variety of layers. Thanks in advance and it is nice to meet you all! :)

Hello!
I have a breese and marans pullet availible close to pol. I'll have chicks soon but they will be silkies and not layers.

I'm a bit out of the way in San jose however.

Thank you chiqita! I am in San Jose as well and would love to support my local economy! It's not quite what I am looking for at this time, but I bet they are beauties!

what are you looking for?

Hi there,
More specifically, I am looking for six or so chicks, each a different variety, that is an excellent egg layer and is friendly. I do like the standard breeds like the Barred Rock but I am also interested in the more obscure breeds, if it had a beautiful egg like the Welsummer for example, etc. Would prefer to get them all from the same place for biosecurity reasons.I am also just curious to see what is available around here...
