Bay Area BYCers!

Yeah, Sam's is a great feed store, they carry many many different items.

60% is good, give it some time to adjust to the actual percentage and then check it again, if it's still at 60% you could try and up it to 65%... honestly though, 5% in humidity isn't going to make much of a difference.

Have you filled the last water resevoir?

Some folks do "dry hatches", where they do not add any water at all to their water resevoir, they allow the incubator to run on natural humidity that exists in their home for the first 18 days. Then during lockdown you do add a very small amount of water, enough to elevate humidity levels in the incubator to around 45%. There are many successful hatches done using this method, too.

It's all a matter of finding what works best for you.

Isn't Sam's great? I wish it were closer to me, I would be going there every time I needed something... or probably more likely than not, when I didn't need anything!

Did you get the needles to administer the vaccine there, too?

Yea I did. Sam himself was super nice. I had a lockdown fiasco my incubator wouldn't stablize so I had to leave them in the regular incubator and turn off the turner a whole extra day. So we went to sams to buy an emergency incubator which actually fired up perfectly and of course as we did the actual hatcher was able to stabalize so I put the eggs in and they were rocking and peeping. So they've been in there all day and night and I woke up to 4 pips....
