Ok here is my new baby, he's the beginning of my breeding program for Heritage Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks. I've also included pics of his girlfriends to be, but I'm probably boring you.

I have to admit i completely screwed up quarantine. During a little nightmare with the waterer in my layer pen and while trying to fix it, everyone got out. So here you have all my hens hanging around the QUARANTINE cage to see the new "trophy" mom brought home....argh....so I'm just crossing my fingers...I put him in with the SPPR girls tonight. He is the cleanest bird I've ever seen- his legs and toes look like he just had a mani/pedi!

Boy I sure hope he's clean on the inside too or I'm really in for it... argh....help me Rhonda...doo run run run

I love that I'm in the "less than 10 breeders in the country" category on this breed. (At least that's what I've been told) They are gorgeous, big & beautiful...in my opinion

Hey Anna Go to Municode.com and look up santa clara county and it talks about having a rooster permit....allowing up to 5 roosters.

Sec. B31-117. - Permit required.

No person shall keep, maintain or harbor five or more roosters within unincorporated Santa Clara County without first obtaining a rooster coop permit from the Manager, and subject to the provisions of the County Zoning Ordinance. The annual fee for the permit shall be fixed by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

No permit is required to keep, maintain or harbor four or fewer roosters. However, the roosters shall be reasonably confined to the property, maintained in a sanitary condition, and not be creating a public nuisance.

Sec. B31-118. - Permit application.

An application for a rooster coop permit to keep, maintain or harbor five or more roosters shall be in writing on a form approved by the Manager. The applicant shall list the number of roosters to be kept, maintained or harbored. The Manager will issue a rooster coop permit to an applicant who meets the requirements of this chapter. The permit must be renewed on an annual basis.

So, I'd love to see where the person who posted that BYC page got their information from and where in a *government* page (as in something.gov) it says no roosters in Sunnyvale.

So this is where we stand with the proposed Ameraucana order folks:

Currently:
jeremy- 3 wheatens and 3 silvers
wolftracks- 4 lavs, 2 blacks and 2 silvers
Laurieks- 5 wheatens and ?

I think Laurieks might want a couple other chicks, but I'm unsure as to what color. Even if she only wants 5 Wheatens we're are 19 chicks right now. That's only 6 chicks away from the minimum order total!

Who else wants to come on board and help us complete the order??? (Oh and yes, I changed my mind from buffs to wheatens,

)

Only 6 more chicks! I know somebody has room!​

If I remember right, more of us wanted chicks after Sunny's order was full, but not enough to make the next size order... so don't give up yet!

Yes Laurie is correct. More folks did want to order after we were full but not enough to raise it to 75. The new order form does look like it has changed the wording. Although last time there was also confusion about the requirements. I would suggest emailing John to be sure what the requirements are first. If we had had a clearer understanding of what he meant last year we would have done things differently. I wish I had room for more of his wheatons. I just love my wheaton gals!

Anna, I would do exactly the same thing! If no one complains you don't have a problem.

You can always rerack later if you have to. BTW 2 weeks doesn't work for our kids (if we are going to drive that far we want to spend lots of time with the kids and grandkids). So I will PM you with alternate info.

I've emailed John for further clarification about the order, hopefully we will hear back from him soon.

Also, I have a few laying hens I would like to find homes for to prepare for spring.
