Bay Area BYCers!

I decided I'm going to post on as many threads as I can to help build up the Egg Train this year.

The West coast is lacking in help right now and most birds and eggs that we need to move are here.

If anyone travels or will be traveling, or just wants to help with organizing or making some short deliveries, please, please, sign up on the members thread and add your traveling destinations to the monthly destination threads.

The Train have worked. I got behind after my husband died and lost some momentum, but he was behind me on this and I really want to make it as big as I can. California we can still use lots more.

My main reason for starting this was because I get the worse looking hatching eggs in the mail. I wanted to do something that would help all of us get out shipments in better shape. This year you'll all see me really trying to grow this, so you might as well give up and join in. Help your fellow BYCers out.

OK you can return to your regularly scheduled posts.

Thanks

Kim

I posted on at least one to get a ride to Stockton (or here) from Dayton Ohio area for a dozen chicks... nothing yet but since you brought it up.... anyone here know someone coming from the great state of Ohio?
It got too cold to ship by the time we'd worked out the sale, and they won't be chicks by the time it warms up.

DH just got showed this picture and I told him that "the person who's taking Aubrey is grandma to this baby holding a baby." He awwwwwed and cooooed over the pic and said it makes him feel better to know that our Aubrey is going to such a great grandma!

Awwww... Thank you! That is so sweet!

I wish I knew of someone. Sorry Laurieks. I do go to the Bay Area once every couple of months though if someone wants to transport to/from Reno, Bay Area sometime.

Anybody know a house sitter who also takes care of chickens (3)?

We're in Walnut Creek and will need someone for 3 -4 weeks, April - May. No other pets.

Thanks.

Well... is anybody looking for a sweet Wheaten Penedesenca cockerel? I'm almost 100% sure that my Pene chick I received from Mrsfoote is a bouncin' baby boy. His feathers have finally started to grow in and they are black all over. The chick is still very young, only he'll be 4 weeks on January 16th. He did come from a nice dark red/brown egg, about a 6 on the Marans egg chart if you use that for reference.

Also, I want to start looking for a new brooder mate for my Marans pullet. Preferably something around 4 to 6 weeks of age, does anybody have any chicks available? Obviously I'd prefer something that I know is a girl, but it may not be possible to know this early on in every breed.

Anybody got a chickie they want to let come live with me?
