Jeremy, did you ever get any bites on this? My Fab Four BCM chicks are doing nicely and are three weeks old today. If there are more than 2 pullets, which might be the case, I'd trade for B/W AM day-olds???
Tomorrow is Photo-shoot day in the Healdsburg Hen Hut! Let's see if I can grab the FAB Four and get some shots that might let me (OK, YOU all...!) determine if these are boys or girls.
Checked the other broody's nest and one egg was squashed, but the other 9 are doing well. Splash Marans coming up?? Fingers crossed. At least this hen gets off to drink, eat and poop once in awhile...

You shouldn't get me started! Ha ha. Playing with photos is one of my favorite past times. I can't submit it for any contests because the focus is off a little. I was using my Son-in-law's point and shoot camera so it focused on the middle of the frame instead of her face (but her pjs are nice and clear, lol).
Thank you for all the nice comments everybody! You are all very sweet
I'm partial to Edmund. He's such a sweet, goofy boy.
He's always the first one out of the coop. He'll come barreling out of the door, practically falling over himself making all sorts of funny rooster noises, then stands and my feet and waits. He's learned that most of the time I bring them treats.
I really, really want to hatch a splash pullet this year though. I think they are beautiful. I plan on eventually culling the blacks from my flock entirely, so I will most likely have 2 black hens available for sale towards the end of this years season, if I hatch the chicks I want that is...
I'm actually looking into gettin a trio, or a quad of pure 100% BBS to replace a couple of the 50%-75% birds that I have now, in hopes of then building a pure English flock up within the next couple of years.

Well it turned out that my Penedesenca chick is a pullet too! So, she got to stay and my Wheatie never had to be all alone.
I've been REALLY lucky this year when it comes to hatching/receiving pullets!
I hope that luck continues into this hatching season!
