Wow, I went to a feed store for 20 years in Hayward and after 2 years can't remember the name. It's an easy name too.

It's on Industrial near Huntwood.

OMG........I should own stock in that place and really can't remember.

I never bought a lot at Mikes. Just stuff when I was raising my exotics and only if I had too.

SUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! Grandma!

We have tons of twins and triplets in my family and my oldest daughter is married to a twin and her exhusband has twin brothers. Third daughter is divorced from a twin. LOL They have a daughter, but at almost 13 babies are a pain. Thank God! I thought there'd be some in the more immediate family.

I always wanted twins, but never had them as siblings and none of my siblings have any. Kids aren't ALL finished or even started, but I have lots of grandkids that may be able to bring some closer to the family.

I'm just so excited for all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I opened a bag of chick starter last night, that I need to return tomorrow, to Concord feed on Clayton Rd. We found 5 weevils on top, so I'll assume finding 5 on top must mean there's hundreds in the bag...
I don't have anything bad to say about Concord Feed, just letting everyone in the area know.
The feed was date stamped as being produced on 1/10/11, so it's not a long storage issue....

Yippee, wolftracks ! I'll send you picks of the feathered-shank boys this weekend so you can see them both.

Holligans + mom on the juvie roost last night--first time! You should have seen them fall off about a million times. Jeesh.

and mama big-butt just keep bumping them. I think it was pay-back time...

Too true, I've got a 6, 8 and 11 year old at home that make me actually enjoy dealing with the chickens schenanigans!

Ha! 21 and never been to a casino, eh??? Hmmm....

Congrats, Sunny! Scary, but wow! Double the work? Double the Grandma load???

Still looking for a few Speckled Sussex chickies for March...Western Farm only has two batches coming in, and I'd rather have them from Y'all, pretty please.
What happens if you mix a week-old chick with 10 two-day olds?

Hi LilyBee, welcome to the Bay Area BYCers.

I'm just north of Berkeley near Pinole and I've been getting my feed in Petaluma at Barlas. It's a bit of a drive and you have to pay a bridge toll but I like the quality of their feed and their prices make it worth the trip up there. And this time of year it is an especially pleasant drive.

Hi,

We get our feed at Hunt-Beherns on Lakeville/near Petaluma Blvd. North Strictly a no-frills feed store .. they do not sell chicks at all. But they mill their own feed -

Western Farm Center in Santa Rosa has almost everything about chicks and chickens: feed, supplies, etc. AND chicks, starting in March. A very, very clean store, animals are well taken care of.

Dawn,
Great photos! My chickens won't touch kale ... picky eaters ..

Thank you everybody! I'll be happy to pull extra Grandma duty! DD has not been good at asking for help in the past, I was teasing her that now she's gonna finally have to learn to accept our help when we offer!

Luckily she laughed too.

She's feeling a little scared right now. She never counted on twins (even though they run on both sides of the family) and kinda feels like one at a time is a big enough job. Still we'll get more huggin' time with more grandkids to go around.

I told each of our four kids that I wanted 12 grandkids (which only comes out to 3 a piece) so this one says she's done now! She's made her quota with these two!

So we are halfway to a dozen grandkids now!

Welcome LilyBee!

wolftracks, I think the feedstore you're talking about is Close Feed & Supply, right?
