I've been posting for one day, and already you're dangling temptation in front of me!

Thanks for the offer, but since I have a fairly small yard, I've decided to stick with bantams. I would love to have been part of that order, but it took me this long to decide what breed I wanted.

I am in Fairfield, right up the road.

I was originally supposed to get chicks from some eggs that someone else was hatching. When I stopped hearing from them, I assumed something had gone wrong, and there wouldn't be any chicks.

It turns out her emails had spontaneously started going into my spam folder. So I should be getting five chicks in the next couple of weeks (knock on wood!), two of them should be BBS bantam Ameraucanas, so if I do end up placing an order from Mr. Blehm, I may be willing to part with them. In fact, I might have to, just to rationalize buying more chicks!

Well, I may go ahead and place and order, and cross my fingers that I have found homes for some of the chicks when they get here. I'm just worried because they won't get here until June, and I have no idea if anyone will still be looking for birds by then. Since y'all have more experience with this, what do you think? Will there be demand for bantam Ameraucanas come June, or will I find myself drowning in chickens?

OK he has Lavs in Bantams......maybe I can do 3 or 4.

Or

OH wait...Anyone have any idea what he sends as Hatchery Choice?

Or

I could do 7 or 8 surplus too.

When are you sending your order? When do you need to know?

I am in the Turlock/Modesto area and am looking for a Barred Rock breeding trio. I also need a Black Australorp rooster. I have hens from two lines, but neither have rooster at this point. My girls come from big birds (one is a breeder in Pine Grove; I wouldn't be a bit surprised if his roosters topped 12 pounds). I am looking for birds from show quality lines, though I'm not concerned if they don't meet all the show requirements.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
