Bay Area BYCers!

I love the peach bins. I think it is such a good start on many different things. I bought 5 to start with & they all have assignments already so I will be getting more when the weather is more stable.

It's that "cheap" part that is going to trip you up......LOL

Cheryl,

Find a small farm / acreage in Sonoma County ... we're only about 30 minutes minimum from the ocean! Seriously, there are homes / lots with acreage for sale all over. You'll like the weather here much better than smoggy southern CA! (unless you want to go to Santa Barbara or Morro Bay?? ... even Half Moon Bay is nice and rural)

Hey Daphne, is there anything under 500k? All we need is a small-ish house and a little bit of land.

Dawn,
Sounds nice ... 4 acres at that price - maybe flat land??

Renee,

Go see it!!! Nicer than having you move so far away in S. CA (even tho there's family in S. CA)

hmmm ... Cheryl, maybe that's something you can look into also???? - just in case it might not be a match for Renee?? The Russian River isn't that far away, and neither are the beaches!

Dawn, that sounds lovely. I forgot to mention that we'd need to find work there first, hehe. My husband is a small animal vet, and he hasn't seen any job openings in the area. We will keep our eyes peeled though.

I'll try to talk my husband into checking it out. For some reason he's resistant to moving to the north bay, though we HAVE been looking at some Oakland properties sort of near Jeremy's place. He has his heart set on SoCal though.

So the saga continues

I went to the lafayette house yesterday to feed/water/clean etc and while I'm going about the chores I start to notice all the things in the garden that need attending to or that are dying and I just start sobbing. Oh how I hate the Sanitary District for keeping us out of our home.

I feel completely overwhelmed by all the back and forth, attending to the chickens and the limbo we are in.

So long story short, I call a friend in Clayton that has 5 acres and she says to come out and take a look at her old barn and if it's suitable we can move the whole flock there and she will take care of them. Just like Kelsey and all of you, she is an angel. So I'm going to go out there this morning. If it will work, I'm not sure how to deal with moving coops or sectioning areas off, oh geez didn't sleep thinking about everything I'd have to do to make it work

Are there any angels out there that have this weekend free and still want to help a distraught crazy girl like me?
