ouch... I'll be watching..., he/she is the most flighty in there!

My little Silver chicks are CRAZY! If the pullets don't lay me a gorgeous blue egg, I'll more than likely rehome them. They're just too high strung for me.

My silvers are more flighty than my other chicks. At least the female is! She is the first to fly up on the side of the brooder when I take the lid off. But she is so curious and friendly! I think that she is going to settle down and be a good hen who hopefully lays a beautiful blue egg! The male isn't as flighty but boy has he taken off with crowing! He entertained me this morning by belting out 5 or 6 good ones at 6:30 AM!

Here are a couple pics of Amelia along with one of the male and one of the two of them together a few weeks ago. I suspected early on that we had a pair based on the difference in feather development as well as behavior. Our female does have a longer tail while the male took forever to grow his in.

Jeremy, They do both have beards coming in as well as muffs. At least, in comparison to my nonbearded chicks, they have the fluffy stuff growing in the beard area! These are my first Ameraucanas so it is all new to me! We have an EE from last year and it took forever for her beard and muffs to grow in because our Golden Sex link kept picking them out!

Here is a pic of Cosette's wing. So what is she???

No, every chick I have hatched has had them, so that was why I freaked a little when I first saw their pictures.

But, like you mentioned sometimes it does take a minute for them to grow back in. I definitely see the pin feathers, so I expect they will both have full beards/muffs when they grow up.
