Kim, I guess you will just have to try for the 7,000th post! Actually, Cheryl posted the 6,000th but went in and deleted hers so mine would be 6,000.

I just got replies from 3 different breeders that I contacted to donate hatching eggs as a raffle prize for the Chickenstock... they all agreed to send eggs next Spring!

I'm uploading a video from when it was raining earlier... it was pouring here!

yep i think it poured just about everywhere off and on today, but hopefully sunshine ahead, although the girls sure do like the bugs that come out, they scoured the yard today, even Abby with the 5 buff laced polish, omg really funny watching the little ones free range, they keep looking at mom to make sure they haven't lost her when their head is down...

Just got a first egg from my cinco de mayo trio. I think its from Barbarella. She has a pretty red comb and face compared to her hatchmates.

Her egg is the small one. Starting from the bottom, clockwise, are eggs from: Jane (BCM); Barbarella?(Barred rock); Stella (Sicilian Buttercup); Brulee (EE); Buffy (BO).

This was the "creek" that runs along our property earlier... from the top of the wall (which is our property) to the creek bed is just about a 6 foot drop.

I shot this video with my phone. (Click the picture to view the photo.)

Mind you... my Orpington's pen is located on the second level of our backyard, if the water would have rose another 8 inches their run would have been flooded!

Also, my Wheaten Marans girl gave me this egg today, pretty good color still for a hen who's been laying since late February...
