I was looking at Sienna Ranch's website a few weeks ago and their water harvesting course peeked my interest. Been thinking 'bout setting up some rain barrels, etc. and I need to figure out what to do with the dirt patch that is 3/4 of my backyard!!! I know what I'm hoping to win!!!

It's the flash flooding that we're worried about this year, if it rains persistently this winter the water level might overflow the creek bed and then the creek would flow into our property. There's really not much we can do to fix this situation, other than move the Orpingtons and their coop from the lower level where they're housed now to the upper level of our backyard... but that's where all of the gardens are currently located. Either that or somehow raise the earth up a few more feet.

I don't see that happening though.

It's got me worried.
