One of my oldest girls, Yvonne, she'll be 4 in March.
What has Judy, my nearly constant broody, been up to this past week?
Oh you know, just sitting on some eggs... that aren't even fertile... in January!
My favorite Splash English Orpington baby, Kate. She has quite the stubborn personality, she's decided her new favorite place to hang out is the garden... and apparently loves geraniums... It's a good thing there really isn't anything growing right now.
I'm in love with Elizabeth's shape, she's quickly becoming my favorite bird.
This is my newest addition, a Delawegger we've named Ethel. She's the result of a Del roo over a Wheaten Ameraucana hen, she lays a very pretty pale olive green colored egg. I'm pretty smitten with her.
Carlos and I were down at Luke's place in Santa Cruz and she sorta "found us". We were walking around checking out his birds and Ethel walked right up to us and said hello. Somehow she ended up in our car and now lives in Oakland. I think she'll do well here.
Of course her personality is just like a Delaware... always right underfoot.
I'll be there friday afternoon til sunday morning. Maybe on Saturday we can get together at the snack bar area, like last year and take over a table or two. Maybe someone has a BYC table topper flag??
Thanks Jeremy. I try to eat organic as much as possible so, while I haven't decided for certain whether I'll persue feeding the hens organic (since they get so many organic kitchen scraps and garden treats), I like to keep my options open. Do you reccomend against it?

My feelings towards organic feed are somewhat indifferent. My biggest point of opposition is the price, I don't feel like we should have to pay that much to feed our birds quality feed. The only thing I would recommend is try to feed your birds a feed that is soy free.
